Melody Morrison-Harris, 54, of Johnstown, went to be with the Lord March 9, 2024. Melody was born May 27, 1969, in Pittsburgh, the loving daughter of the late Geraldine Price and William (Gundy) Hardwick, she was also predeceased by her brother Tyrone. Melody was a loving mother and will be survived by her children, Ericka, Melody, Jr., Willie Jr., Malika (Jakien), Malcolm, Mariah and Mandy; and 18 grandchildren, Honesty, Makylla, Roneil Jr., Austin, Miyahlove, Keaton, Raiel, Angell, Myreallove, Royale, Joel 3rd, Myraclelove, Romiero, Jhosse Jr., Ja’oir, Sar’Yara, Josie, Mytrulove; sisters Candace, Penny and Kimberly; brother Kenneth, God Mother Karen and God sister Monica and a multitude of cousins, nieces and nephews and friends.
Melody moved to Johnstown decades ago and layed roots. She was respected and honored by the community and so many people looked to her as a mother, sister or Auntie figure. Melody had a tongue that could cut deep but a smile that could heal any wound. Her presence was felt in any room she was in. She was one of the best dressed people in town, always keeping up with new hair and clothing trends. One of Melody’s greatest prides were her 18 grandchildren; she loved each of them with all her heart and their presence ignited a glow in her spirit and smile.
Melody fought a lengthy battle with the disease ALS and exceeded all medical expectations, she never let ALS stop her, she adjusted and continued to live life to the fullest. Her strength was unmatchable, and her faith was unbreakable. Melody was a very loving, sweet, and well-respected person who will be loved and missed beyond words by many. The family takes comfort in the fact that when God met her at the gates of Heaven, He placed her crown on her head and said “Well done my good and faithful servant”
Services for Melody will take place Friday, March 15, 2024 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 629 Menoher Blvd, Johnstown, PA 15901, visiting with the family will be from 1:00-1:30 leading into the Memorial Service. The Celebration of Life for Melody will begin at 4PM at Alleghenies Unlimited Care Providers Community Room, 119 Jari D. Johnstown, PA 15904.
